   The Toolshed

I made this peg board for the shed wall to hang tools on. Since this peg board was made, I have found a much more realistic-looking piece of material to use as a pegboard.

Here are the hinges I painstakingly installed so the tool shed roof would open and close (easier to see what's inside from the top!)

I finally got the door hung and hinged!!!

I had fun building this shed. I had a very limited area on one side of the house on which to build, so I had to measure carefully. Then I had fun drawing out the pattern on a piece of wood, then cutting it out with a jigsaw. Surprisingly, I cut everything fairly straight even though I was cutting freehand, and didn't have to sand TOO much! I spent most of an afternoon working on the door (and I thought I wasn't going to have to hang anymore doors anytime soon.....till I came up with THIS bright idea!)

Here's a look inside the shed with the door open. I haven't decorated it with tools yet, except for a few I had lying around just because I wanted to see what they'd look like in their own spot! The tools have been boxed up until now because they really didn't belong anywhere inside the house. Since I like tools so much, I thought they deserved their own place to live. Thus, the idea for the Tool Shed.

You would think I've had enough worries the in the past with hanging doors in this house that I would have tried my best to stay away from hinges of any sort. But NO, I am determined to conquer my fear of hinges, so I hinged the roof of the tool shed. You can actually see the pegs on the homemade pegboard....I like my little tool shed, even though it's not quite completed yet.

An updated photo of the new tool shed. It is now glued to one side of the house, and I've landscaped a bit around it. Now I just have to put the tools back in it and whoever does the gardening and handyman work in this house will have one place to look for all of his/her tools. Now, If I could just get my REAL house in this kind of order...
